How To Useful Tech Info - TORRENTS - Free Music, Movies, Games, anything you can think of.... literally

Get Free Media SAFELY... in 5 easy steps

1. Choosing a Client/Program

Download a Bittorrent Program also called a Bittorrent Client. Similar to Limewire or Bearshare but much safer. A couple good Programs/Clients are uTorrent or Azureus. I personally recommend uTorrent because its smaller size and lower CPU usage. Azureus will do the same thing but is a little prettier.

2. Installing the Client/Program

This step should be fairly easy and straight forward. If you picked one of the two Programs/Clients above then we already know it's safe and you can breeze through installation quickly. When you launch the Program/Client for the first time you will be asked to enter the information specific to your computer e.g. internet connection speed, Download location, etc. if you are unsure about these settings then they are best left as default.

3. Websites/Tracker Choice

You must pick a Source for your Torrents (a torrent is a small file you load into your Program/Client). You may have as many or as little Sources as you like. A Source is a Website that has a list of Torrents and is also called a Tracker. There are many free ones such as Pirate Bay, Mininova, Torrentz, SeedPeer and then there are other sites that you create an account these site are still safe, your membership is strictly to monitor your sharing. You will find that these sites are usually much faster and more reliable. Sometimes there will be waiting lists to be accepted because of the popularity of Torrents.

4. Pick a Torrent - Seed and Leeches

After you pick a website that you will be downloading Torrents from now it's the good part, and probably the easiest. Search for anything you like but before you pick, notice the 2 columns (shown below) 1st the SEEDS (the # of people that already have the file) and 2nd the LEECHES (people like you trying to get the file). The more SEEDS there are the faster you will get the file unless there is also alot of LEECHES so try to find the torrent with the most SEEDS but at the same time the least amount of LEECHES. Now download the torrent. If it doesn't automatically open in your choosen bittorrent client then you will need to locate your browsers download folder and double click the file.

How-To

5. Sharing is caring

Depending on the size of your download it should take between 2 minutes for a song to an hour or so for a full length movie. This is by far the most important step the RATIO you must give back the same amount as you take (you take 5MB give back 5MB most people do more). You will find the RATIO in your Program/Client. It will be shown in number form like as 0.5 meaning if you downloaded 1MB you have uploaded 500KB, half easy right. You can set-up your Program/Client to stop each file itself when the ratio is reached (1:1). Failure to follow this step will eventually lead to being banned from all of the sites one by one most of these site use the same Tracker.
